XROAD just re-released G-Map for the iPhone.  Search G-Map in your iTunes store.  The released has some bugs fixs and has new version number.

This software is very helpful for thos of us that don’t have 3G 100% of the time.  The maps are store on the device.  Unlike the Google maps that require an internet connection to load.  This really makes the application run quickly.

Well worth the $24.99 for the West where I live.

XRoad’s G-Map Pulled from iTunes App Store

smallxroadWent over to iTunes to pick up G-Map.  Looks like it has been pulled.  I’m not sure when it happened.  Anyone know?

G-Map is an iPhone app that load all the maps in the West and or East, $20 a coast.  This is a great option for those of you traveling through areas where cell coverage is limited.  As most of you know the iPhone’s Google Map feature only works when the phone can reach the online maps.

The Dash Express | GPS with Wifi and GPRS

My demo Dash Express should arrive today.  I was cleared for a demo unit a few weeks ago, but the recent software update slowed the mailing of it. I will be testing it out while on a five day driving trip with the local Mini Cooper club.

The Dash Express combines two forms of communication, Wifi and GPRS.  The Wifi feature will be convenient for sending trip information to the unit.  Your trips are already in the unit before you get in the car.  Trips are created from a desktop application, then sent to the unit over your Wifi network. This will be great for adding destinations along a route.  My TomTom is great for getting from my current location to another.  However I would like the ability to enter destinations along the way.  I am hoping the desktop application will make this process a lot easier.
