The device I spoke of a 2 months ago

A few months ago I was at the Denver Handheld User Group meeting.  We were discussing NetBooks.  The topic moved around the table.  When it got to me I explained that I wanted a device about the size of 3-4 iPhone screens.  Here it is friends, but smaller.

Plica consists of two touchscreens and it looks exactly like a regular cellphone. When the phone is folded in two screens, you will use one as a keyboard and on the other you will be able to see whatever you want to. Also, you can view the images on both screens which means twice the resolution. Plica is very functional kind of like a mini-laptop and it features USB and headphone jacks.

NVIDIA Ion Platform Energizes Atom Into A Premium PC Experience

Press Release

The formula is simple: Combine the highly rated GeForce® 9400 GPU found in new desktop and notebook PCs with the Intel Atom CPU. This combination (code-named Ion Platform) enables the smallest premium PC experience available today, making it ideal for the exploding category of mini-notebooks and compact PCs.

This Ion reference design is a full-fledged PC that supports full-spec 1080p HD video, popular PC games, and Windows Vista Premium. OEM designs can be even smaller.

Lenovo’s Hard Drive Protection

This video was taken back in 2006, but just recent released to the public.  I have not seen one with this protection yet.  It’s just a matter of time before this technology makes it to the market.

Any Ninjas on your gift list?

If your like me I have a Ninja or two on my Christmas list.  If someone one your list has a set of those two toed sock shoes I just found you a perfect gift for them.

There not really throwing stars.  Well designed magnets.  My oldest son is going to love these. No he is not a REAL Ninja.

Anyone Else using Boxee.tv?

Anyone else here using the Boxee.tv Alpha?  Looks pretty cool.  It’s meant for use on the Apple TV.  However they have a MacOS X version.

Boxee has a cool idea.  It links all your TV/Music and other video in one place.  The key here is that it also links you to the network run TV show sites like Hulu, CBS.com, etc.  This way you don’t have to URL browse for your favorite shows.  A couple clicks through the Boxee UI and your linked to your favorite shows.  It has a few minor glitches right, but it’s only a Alpha right now.

I am using it on my MacBookPro.  Most of the shows I like are on CBS.com or Hulu.  I may be re-evaluating my need for TIVO.  Domino’s Pizza is not my favorite anyway.

Boxee also offers Netflix download customers the ability to watch downloaded movies.  This is all the rage these days.  The PS3, XBOX 360, TIVO and many other set top boxes are signed with Netflix.  I use Blockbuster’s service, but it is getting hard not to switch with all the options that NetFlix is offering.

Time will tell if Boxee.tv will last.  I frankly believe it will be something I use at first.  I’ll enjoy the experiance, but see the lack of a feature or two that something else will offer and I will stop using it.
